Stinging insects
Stinging insects are bugs that have a needle-like part on the tail end of their body. This is known as the stinger. The stinger lets them inject venom (a poison), into people and other animals. Stinging insects use their stingers when they are hunting for food or to protect their nests. Yellowjackets and bees are some of the most common stinging insects in the county. They can become a nuisance or troublesome when present in large numbers.
