Dr. Noor Tietze

Noor is an enthusiastic, creative, and fun individual who has been part of our team for over 26 years leading our surveillance program. Under his role, he is also in charge of managing our fellow and intern program, helps register our staff for educational workshops, and is treasurer for the Coastal Region Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California. Noor received his doctoral degree in medical entomology from UC Riverside, a master's degree in parasitology, and bachelor's degree in marine biology, both at California State University Long Beach. Prior to being part of our team, Noor worked for a  state mosquito research laboratory in Florida. He was born in Los Angeles and moved to Vienna, Austria as a teenager, but the Bay Area has been his home for the last 26 years. In his personal life, Noor enjoys beekeeping and making honey, jam, and yogurt.
