Dr. Nayer Zahiri

Nayer launched her career with Santa Clara County as a Vector Ecologist, later joining the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District as a surveillance director. Returning to our team, she assumed the role of District Manager, steering us for the past five years. In this capacity, Nayer oversees surveillance, operations, outreach programs, budget allocation, and resource recruitment. Originally from Iran, she has resided in the South Bay for 16 years, dedicating herself to delivering essential services to her community. Holding a doctoral degree in medical entomology from McGill University, Nayer is fervently committed to environmental conservation, social justice, and continuous learning. During her free time, she cherishes family time, engages in drawing and painting, explores through travel, and embraces diverse cultures.
