Consumer and Environmental Protection Agency Director

Overview

Edgar has been guiding our District for the past year as the Director of the County’s Consumer and Environmental Protection Agency (CEPA) Director. Under this role, he manages all CEPA’s functions and ensures efficiency for all CEPA’s departments, which includes the Vector Control District. Edgar received his bachelor's degree from San Jose State University and has a master's degree in public administration. His previous experience includes working for Santa Cruz County as Risk Director for 12 years and working for the San Benito County as the CEO of the Superior Court for four years. A California native born in Santa Cruz County, he is passionate about having a meaningful impact on you. In his personal life, Edgar cares about being a good father, having a good work-life balance, and enjoys playing and coaching a U10 competitive team.
